Chapter History

On March 8th, 2008, the Kappa Omicron Sigma Chapter was founded by seven dynamic women. These women have been steadfast and diligent in its endeavors to uplift underserved communities in the Central Pennsylvania area.

Upon chartering, the chapter was granted the Rho Pi undergraduate chapter at Shippensburg and Rho Omicron Bloomsburg universities as their first undergraduate chapters. In 2012, the chapter was instrumental in the chartering of the Sigma Nu chapter at York College of Pennsylvania, which stood out as the first NPHC organization at the college. Within the next three years, we were happy to charter our last undergraduate chapter, Tau Zeta at Lehigh University.

The Kappa Omicron Sigma Chapter now sponsors two undergraduate chapters within sigma. Those chapters consist of:

Shippensburg University - Rho Pi Chapter

NER Penn State Harrisburg

Kappa Omicron Sigma Strives to uphold the principles of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
